2-dages seminar: When Art Meets the Screen

I samarbejde med Filmskolen indbyder Danske Scenografer til et seminar om visuel storytelling. Hovedkræfterne på seminaret er den canadiske altmuligfilmmand Phillip Barker sammen med instruktør Christina Rosendahl og Jette Lehmann, Henning Bahs-prismodtager 2017. Hver for sig og ikke mindst tilsammen har de en fantastisk rig erfaring, som de vil dele ud af på seminaret. Det overordnede fokus er storytelling, herunder production design, instruktion og visuel stil inklusive blandt andet klipning, storyboard og sketches.

Seminaret finder sted lørdag den 22. og søndag den 23. april 2017 på Den Danske Filmskoles Efteruddannelse, Theodor Christensens Plads 1, 1437 København K. Begge dage fra 10.00-16.30.

When Art Meets the Screen

Canadian Film Director, Production Designer, Installation Artist and Screenwriter Phillip Barker meets with director Christina Rosendahl and production designer Jette Lehmann for a 2-days inspiring talk about visual storytelling.

Phillip Barker has a long collaboration with director Atom Egoyan and has received a Directors Guild of Canada Award for Outstanding Achievement in Production Design for Atom Egoyan’s Where the Truth Lies. Together they have collaborated on films as The Sweet Hereafter, Where The Truth Lies and Chloe among others.

As a production designer Phillip Barker also worked with directors such as Brian De Palma, Mira Nair, Lisa Choldenko and Neil LaBute.

His own films have been widely shown internationally and have won numerous awards. His film-based installations have toured internationally and include commissions by ARCO International Art Fair in Madrid, The City of Amsterdam Arts Foundation, and Expo ‘92 in Sevilla, Spain.

The seminar will focus on storytelling, production design, collaborations, directing, visual style including films, film clips, storyboard, sketches etc.

Christina Rosendahl, Director. Christina debuted with the documentary Stargazer back in 2002. Before Christina studied Comparative Literary History, Film & Media Studies at the University of Copenhagen. Christina has directed documentary, TV series and latest her feature The Idealist from 2015.

Jette Lehmann graduated as architect and has worked as production designer on TV-series such as The Killing – season 2 & 3, and films such as Nordkraft, Prag, Flammen og Citronen (dir. Ole Christian Madsen) Stille Hjerte, Marie Krøyer (dir. Bille August), Melancholia (dir. Lars von Trier) among others.
